The Fool

Major Arcana

Rank 0
Roman Numeral 0

Description

The Fool features the likeness of a blonde young man, richly attired in a colorful tunic with a floral pattern and bell-sleeves. He is wearing a gold belt, slacks and a pair of bright yellow or golden boots. He is depicted delicately holding a white flower in his left hand and hobo-pack on a stick in his right hand, draped across the shoulder. Closer inspection of the bag shows what appears to be the head of an eagle. Seemingly lost in reverie, he gazes up at the sky with his arms spread in a carefree manner as if to welcome anything that may come. The sun is at his back and he’s accompanied by his little white dog who also seems to match his enthusiasm. Distant snow-capped mountains can be seen in the background and two smaller peaks can be seen in the bottom left.
