Description of The Star
The Star card depicts a large radiant star with either points surrounded by 7 other smaller stars, each having eight points as well. A blonde young woman, out of her clothes, is kneeling by a waters edge with her left knee on the land and her right foot on the water. With two large ewers (vessels), one in each hand; with her right she pours into the water and with her left hand she pours water upon the land.
Behind the young woman lies a small hill, upon it is a small tree with a happy young bird flapping it's wings with delight!
Symbolically, The Star card represents the renewal of all things. The water associates it with the elements and the "Waters of Life". The Star depicted represents the "Flaming Star" or the L'Étoile Flamboyante depicted in Masonic symbolism.
"That which the figure communicates to the living scene is the substance of the heavens and the elements. It has been said truly that the mottoes of this card are 'waters of life freely and 'gifts of the spirit." - A. E. Waite
